A stand up series supposedly set in a Cabaret Club (the Viva Cabaret! club of the title). Acts appearing included Lee Evans (five times), Lily Savage (four times), Mark Thomas, Harry Hill, Greg Proops, Bob Downe, John Thomson (as Bernard Right-On), Gayle Tuesday, Rowland Rivron, Mike McShane, Alan Davies and Barry Cryer.
There were regular musical moments too with acts such as legends Tom Jones and Eartha Kitt making several appearances during the second season. There were also performances in season one from the likes of Lesley Garrett, Terence Trent D’Arby, Marc Almond, Kid Creole, Ute Lemperer and Jools Holland
