Wimbledon Poisoner, The (BBC-1 1996, Robert Lindsay, Alison Steadman)
Who would have ever thought attempting murder could become so messy and complicated? Homicides, mishaps and mistaken identity combine for a potent mix in the deliciously wicked black comedy.
Robert Lindsay stars as Henry, a mild-mannered lawyer living a rather boring life in the leafy green London suburb of Wimbledon. Fed up with being bullied by his overbearing, demanding wife Elinor (Alison Steadman, Secrets and Lies, Topsy-Turvy), he decides that the only way to solve his problem is to do away with her.
