Wrong Mans, The (BBC-2 2013, James Corden, Mathew Baynton)

Published

on

Comedy The Wrong Mans is a play on traditional action adventure tropes and focused on Sam Pinkett and Phil Bourne, two incredibly ordinary blokes who get caught up in a serious mix of crime and corruption after Sam makes a decision to answer a ringing mobile phone whilst caught up in the aftermath of a car crash.

Created by series stars Corden and Baynton who came up with the idea whilst working on Gavin and Stacey several years before. Indeed a pilot was shot in twenty ten but only a few ideas from that were retained for the series proper.

The guest cast is first rate and includes the likes of Dawn French, Nick Moran, Benedict Wong, Bertie Carvel and Dougray Scott. The duo even managed to snag League of Gentlemen alumni Jeremy Dyson as script editor.

Series two was made up of two 60 minute episodes in the UK but this was split into four for showing in other countries.
