In the thriller Carla Helen North meets Carla French on a Greek holiday island and soon discovers that Carla has a lust for life and a penchant for making things up.
Following an argument on a dark deserted road Carla is killed and Helen, who passes out during the fight and wakes with a rock in her hand, is convinced she is responsible for Carla’s death – but when Carla’s prone body is hit by a truck the Greek police rule the death accidental and Helen keeps quiet about her involvement.
After returning to England a British inquest is opened and she meets Carla’s husband and the truth of what really happened that night emerges.
