Don’t Leave Me This Way (BBC-2 1993, Janet McTeer, Imelda Staunton)
Crime thriller Don’t Leave Me This Way followed two academics, Loretta and Bridget, who turn detective when their old school friend Sandra is killed in a car accident and they suspect foul play.
They find the officially recorded verdict of accidental death unacceptable. They begin to suspect that Sandra was mixed up in something shady when Loretta discovers a toy koala with £10,000 stuffed into it hidden in her flat by Sandra. They gradually build up a picture of what must have happened.
