Ffizz (ITV 1987-1989, Richard Griffiths, Benjamin Whitrow)
Sitcom Ffizz focused on a pair of university pals, Jack Mowbray (Richard Griffiths) and Hugo Walker (Benjamin Whitrow), who run a slowly going bankrupt wine merchants called Mowbray and Crofts. Their bank manager insists on sending a troubleshooter, Alan (Robin Kermode), to help them to sort out the business.
In season two the pair were forced to find work in a supermarket run by Mrs Gosling (Gabrielle Drake).
Writers Richard Fegan and Andrew Norriss had scored big with their Simon Callow starring sitcom Chance In A Million but Ffizz turned out somewhat flat.
