Gadzooks! It’s All Happening (BBC-2 1965)
Gadzooks! It’s All Happening was a black and white pop show that was a sequel to Beat Room and offered the same kind of fare with top pop acts as well as dance troupe The Beat Girls.
Presenters were Alan David and Christine Holmes. Peter Cook (first of several appearances), Marianne Faithfull, Tom Jones and The Animals were guests on the first show.
The title changed to Gadzooks! It’s the In Crowd (on 31 May 1965) and a short while later on 12 July 1965 it shortened to just Gadzooks! A pre fame David Bowie made an appearance on the show with his band Davy Jones and Manish Boys (on 24 May 65) but there was also room for bigger names like The Who, Them Sandie Shaw and The Moody Blues. American folk singer Dorris Henderson was also a regular on the series.
