Goodbye Mr Kent (BBC-1 1982, Richard Briers, Hannah Gordon)

In sitcom Goodbye Mr Kent, after running into financial difficulties when her husband leaves her, divorcee Victoria Jones takes in the irritating Travis Kent as her lodger.

Kent was a dishevelled journalist with big ideas but limited ability.

Writers Peter Vincent and Peter Robinson based Kent on Oscar Madison of Odd Couple fame having become closely involved with the character whilst reworking the movie script for German TV.
