Heartburn Hotel (BBC-1 1998-2000, Tim Healy, Clive Russell)
Sitcom Heartburn Hotel sees Harry Springer running the Hotel from Hell in Birmingham, he mistreats his nephew, staff and is horrible to his mostly long term stay immigrant residents.
Duggie Strachan is his ex-Army pal who served in the Falkland Islands with him and now lodges at the Hotel.
Harry had bought the Hotel with his discharge pay in the early 90’s when it looked like the Olympics were going to be hosted there. They weren’t.
Co-written by legendary John Sullivan Heartburn Hotel ran for two season and one special but somehow didn’t make much of an impression.
