Jamie (ITV 1971, Garry Miller, Aubrey Morris)
Family series Jamie saw young 13 year old Jamie Dodger discovering that a carpet in an old junk shop has magical properties. With quite a bit of help from shopkeeper Mr Zed Jamie is able to use the carpet to travel back in time to meet historical characters like Robert the Bruce, Horatio Nelson and Guy Fawkes.
Travelling from the Battle of Hastings to the Great Fire of London Jamie is aided in his adventures by his friend Tink as well as Mr Zed.
There is a bit of an educational thing going on too as Jamie learns more than a bit about the various characters he meets. His dad also just happens to be an historian.
