Jobs in the House and Garden (ITV 1971, Mike Smith, Gordon Cooper)

Jobs in the House and Garden hosted by Mike Smith was more or less a continuation of the 1970 series Toolbox (this had also been presented by Mike Smith). It offered more of the same in terms of D.I.Y. with extra emphasis also placed on the outside of the house with gardening expert Gordon Cooper on board for anything plant related. In fact the first 12 episodes of the series were all about gardening.

Mike Smith was ITV’s resident handyman for much of the decade, other shows in the same vein included the already mentioned Toolbox and the mid seventies Old House – New Home as well as Toolkit (1977). Graham Watts was the producer on all of these too.
