Johnny and the Bomb (BBC-1 2006, George Mackay, Frank Finlay)
In three part children’s scifi drama Johnny and the Bomb, Johnny Maxwell comes into the possession of a bag-lady’s shopping trolley stuffed with bin bags which she says are “bags of time”.
When activated the trolley takes Johnny and his friends back in time to wartime Blackbury on the eve of the only German bomb drop on that small Pennine town – but when they return to the present something has gone wrong and they find that history has been changed so that Johnny was never born and they have to return to the past to fix whatever it is they changed.
