Kindness Of Mrs Radcliffe, The (Playhouse ITV 19 Aug 1968, Phyllis Calvert)
Drama The Kindness Of Mrs Radcliffe was set in 1938 and followed the puritanical Mrs Radcliffe who spends much of her time interfering in the lives of other people, especially those she considers to be doing wrong.
The play followed a day in her life, especially her dealings in trying to get a 15 year old girl from an orphanage she sees wearing make up and reading a copy of Gone With the Wind into trouble.
The Burlington Arcade was used for Mrs Radcliffe’s shopping expedition as it was had remained unchanged since the Victorian era.
