Making Of A Lady, The (ITV1 2012, Lydia Wilson, Linus Roache)

Based on a somewhat forgotten novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett (she of The Secret Garden fame) The Making of a Lady takes us back to the 19th century for a full on historical romance. None too wealthy Emily marries Lord Walderhurst for money instead of making a love match but despite their relationship blossoming Emily faces a hard time from Walderhurst’s staff and also faces a major challenge when she befriends her husband’s nephew and his wife who is Indian.
