Moonbase 3 (BBC-1 1973, Donald Houston, Ralph Bates)
Moonbase 3 was a short lived pure science fiction series set on the moon in the year 2003. By that stage (30 years in the future at the time the series was made) the moon had been well and truly colonised. Base number 3 belonged to the Europeans.
Written and created by Doctor Who alumni Barry Letts and Terrance Dicks and with scientific advice from James Burke, Moonbase 3 was considered a little too accurate for most people’s tastes and the stories tended to be a little too dry. A good attempt though.
