Mumbai Calling (ITV 2009, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Daisy Beaumont)
In Mumbai Calling Sanjeev Bhaskar plays Kenny Gupta, a UK born Indian who is sent over to Mumbai in order to try and save rapidly failing call centre Teknobable. Rather put out by his arrival is manager Dev Rajah whose main focus is his female staff and making as much cash on the side as he can. Kenny himself of course is none too happy to be there either and longs to return to rainy London, however the arrival of assessor Terri Johnson shakes everything up for everyone.
The series was supposed to air in the UK in 2008 but ITV held back on it, it received it’s world premiere on HBO India in 2008 before finally airing on ITV a year later.
The pilot featured Sophie Hunter as Tiffany but her character morphed into Terry Johnson for the series.
