Period drama serial New Worlds was a sequel of sorts to 2008 drama The Devil’s Whore (also written by Peter Flannery) set in America and England in the 1860s. Charles II has now been King for 20 years but wants nothing more than to bring to heel the people who executed his father – he knows that puritan stronghold of Massachusetts in New England is where one of those responsible for regicide is now establishing a new ideal.
In the heart of all this Beth (daughter of Angelica from The Devil’s Whore) tangles with on the run outlaw Abe and in Massachusetts Ned Hawkins and Hope Russell are caught up in a Native American uprising.
