Police Five (ITV 1962-1990, Shaw Taylor)
With questions like ‘Were you in the neighbourhood’, Police Five host Shaw Taylor appealed for viewers’ assistance in tracking down criminals and preventing future incidents. Produced in conjunction with New Scotland Yard, this series focused on crimes in the capital, although regional equivalents were also shown in other ITV areas. Taylor’s parting advice was, ‘Keep ’em peeled.’
ITV – London Weekend Television also produced Junior Police Five in the 1970s.
