Period drama serial The Tenant of Wildfell Hall saw Helen Graham seek refuge in remote Wildfell Hall after running away from her brutish husband. Helen then falls in love with a local landowner.

This was based on the novel by Anne Bronte and was previously produced by the BBC in 1968 with Janet Munro in the main role.
