Worzel Gummidge Turns Detective (BBC 1953 with Frank Atkinson)
Fantasy BBC comedy serial Worzel Gummidge Turns Detective was an early adventure for loveable scarecrow Worzel Gummidge (Frank Atkinson). The character of Worzel became a much loved figure of Children’s TV when ITV mounted a very popular version starring Jon Pertwee in the late 1970s.
