The atmospheric Hallowe’en Party has a script penned by Sherlock helmer Mark Gatiss. Here Hercule is asked by his novelist friend Ariadne Oliver to investigate after an Halloween Party in Woodleigh Common where Ariadne overhears fellow partygoer Joyce Reynolds admit to having witnessed a murder several years. Later Joyce is found murdered, drowned in an apple-bobbing bucket. The police are not overly convinced about the validity of Joyce’s murder story but as Poirot digs deeper he uncovers a number of other deaths in the village.
Like ITV’s companion Agatha Christie show Miss Marple the guest casts are always fabulous, watch out here for an appearance from the 80-something Eric Sykes! Also good to see Zoe Wanamaker back on board as Ariadne.
