The Shadow Line Episode Four (BBC-2 26 May 2011)

After the shocking and highly graphic killings of last weeks episode (which quite frankly left us speechless as we were definitely not expecting it) and the final moment revelation that DI Gabriel has a second life lines up what is in store for Episode Four. It’s all highly convoluted once again, customs officer Beatty is on the trail of Wrattan and shows Gabriel the case he has assembled so far – things hot up when Beatty arrests Stephen who is one of Bob Harris’s main men.

Bede is less than impressed when Harris calls off their impending drugs deal especially when Harris makes it plain he thinks it is Jay’s fault his drugs line has been caught. But it seems all roads lead to Gatehouse at the minute.

As brilliant as The Shadow Line is, and make no mistake it is brilliant there is a genuine air of unpleasantness surrounding the whole thing. Especially where Gatehouse and Wratten are concerned, this episode sees more nastiness when Gatehouse pays a visit to the missing money man Glickmans daughter-in-law and her young child. So be warned…
