Shoestring: Looking For Mr Wright (BBC-1 16 Nov 1980 with Diana Dors)

Mem TV Episodes Generic

In Looking For Mr Wright middle aged Lois (who works as a secretary at Erica’s chambers) joins a dating agency but calls in Eddie when her first date, Clive, mysteriously vanishes half way through dinner, Eddie discovers that Clive was targetted by two men, tracking them down to a local fairground he learns that the owner Maggie has some very strong reasons for wanting Clive off the scene.

Great to see the fab Diana Dors in a guest role here as the matriarchal Maggie who rules the roost where her sons are concerned. Eddie gets a beating yet again and there is quite a bit for Erica to do in this episode too, especially when Eddie persuades her to try out the dating agency for him in a bid to find out more about Clive. There is a fun moment too when Erica accidentally rings Eddie whilst he is on the radio.
