Songs of Praise: Gospel Choir of the Year 2024 (BBC One Sunday 14 January 2024)
The highly anticipated “Songs of Praise Gospel Choir of the Year” is returning to BBC One on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 1:15 pm. Hosted by Mark De-Lisser, this episode marks the first of two programs featuring five of the best amateur choirs from across the UK.
The choirs will take to the stage at The Monastery in Manchester, where they will have their first opportunity to impress three celebrity judges. The judges include Karen Gibson, known as the godmother of UK gospel and director of The Kingdom Choir; Muyiwa Olarewaju, a singer and broadcaster; and Gareth Malone, TV’s favorite choir master.
Each choir will perform their chosen song in hopes of winning over the judges and the audience. The five choirs featured in this episode are Faithworks Gospel Choir from London with their rendition of “The Storm Is Passing Over,” Sing It Bold Community Gospel Choir from Nottingham performing “Holy,” Oxford Gospel Choir singing “Praise The Lord,” Soul of the City Gospel Choir from Exeter with “In the Sanctuary,” and Kudos Gospel Choir from London singing “Count Your Blessings.”
With such talented choirs taking part, viewers are left wondering which one will become their favorite. Join in on Sunday, January 14th at 1:15 pm on BBC One to witness these incredible performances and find out which choir will stand out as the Songs of Praise Gospel Choir of the Year for 2024.
