Explorer Paul Rose reveals the real story behind the first ever circumnavigation of the world.

It’s been 500 years since Ferdinand Magellan set sail in search of the Spice Islands. Although it is widely believed that he did, in fact, reach them, he did not. Rose recounts the dramatic events that ultimately resulted in his scurvy-ridden crew continuing on without him. Though marred by mutiny and murder, the incredible expedition succeeded in radically altering the lives of subsequent generations and continues to have an impact even today.
