CBS Mornings

On Tuesday June 4, CBS Mornings welcomes actor Dakota Fanning, television personality and podcast host Jonathan Van Ness, and author Colson Whitehead to the show.

Fanning will discuss her latest role in the upcoming fantasy-horror-mystery film “The Watchers,” which is set to be released on June 7, 2024. In the film, Fanning portrays a young artist who becomes stranded in an extensive forest in western Ireland, where she finds shelter but becomes trapped alongside three strangers, stalked by mysterious creatures.

Van Ness, best known as the grooming expert on the Netflix series “Queer Eye” and host of the “Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness” podcast, will join the show to discuss his new book, “Gorgeously Me!” In his book, Van Ness, who identifies as non-binary, explores their journey of self-discovery and how they navigate their gender expression and sexuality.

Rounding off the show is Colson Whitehead, a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning author, who will discuss his latest novel, “Crook Manifesto.” Set in 1970s New York, the book paints a vivid picture of a city in turmoil, with trash piling up on the streets, soaring crime rates, and financial woes. Whitehead masterfully weaves together the stories of a furniture store owner trying to stay afloat and a violent partner-in-crime, painting a darkly funny tale of a city under siege.

Tune in to CBS Mornings with Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil, and Nate Burleson weekdays at 7:00-9:00 AM.
