On Thursday, May 2, CBS Mornings welcomes chief legal correspondent Jan Crawford, country singer-songwriter Walker Hayes, and actor Jeff Daniels to the show.

Jan Crawford, CBS News’ chief legal correspondent, joins the show to discuss her career in journalism and her book, “Supreme Conflict: The Inside Story of the Struggle for the Control of the United States Supreme Court,” which became an instant New York Times bestseller. Crawford has covered the Supreme Court for over two decades and has interviewed several of its justices. She is also a recognized authority on the Court and has taught journalism at American University.

Walker Hayes is a country singer-songwriter who has had multiple singles chart on the Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts. His highest-charting single, “Fancy Like,” reached number one on both charts. Hayes is set to release his forthcoming debut album, which he describes as “the voice of a grinder laying it bare.” The album will feature personal songs about family, struggle, vices, and sacrifices.

Jeff Daniels stars in the Netflix miniseries “A Man in Full,” based on Tom Wolfe’s novel of the same name. Daniels portrays Charlie Croker, a real estate mogul facing sudden bankruptcy, whose luxurious life begins to crumble. The series showcases the collapse of Charlie’s empire and intertwines his struggles with those of other characters.

The show will also feature a Mother’s Day segment with Sarah Gelman, the editorial director at Amazon Books. Gelman is a lifelong reader who has dedicated her career to books and publishing. She is known for her guest appearances on national talk shows and her signature book club, “Sarah Selects.”
