CBS Unveils 2024-2025 Primetime Lineup with New Shows and Returning Favourites

CBS has announced its 2024-2025 primetime programming schedule, introducing new scripted series, a reimagined classic game show, and a host of returning shows. The network’s lineup will launch immediately following the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 11, 2024, with original episodes of new and returning series.

New Scripted Series:

Matlock: A reimagining of the classic television series, starring Kathy Bates as a brilliant and tactical lawyer, Madeline “Matty” Matlock. The series also stars Skye P. Marshall, Jason Ritter, David Del Rio, and Leah Lewis.

Poppa’s House: A comedy starring Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. Wayans plays a legendary talk radio host and divorced father who must navigate challenges at work and at home, where he still parents his adult son, played by Wayans Jr. The cast also includes Essence Atkins and Tetona Jackson.

NCIS: Origins: A prequel to the long-running ‘NCIS’ franchise, starring Austin Stowell as a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs and narrated by Mark Harmon. The series explores Gibbs’ early career and is set in 1991.

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage: A sequel to ‘Young Sheldon’, following Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment) as they navigate adulthood, parenting, and marriage.

Watson: A mid-season medical mystery drama starring Morris Chestnut as a modern version of the iconic detective, John Watson. The series is set after the death of Sherlock Holmes and sees Watson resuming his medical career while uncovering Moriarty’s schemes.

The Summit:

A high-stakes competition show hosted by Manu Bennett, following 16 strangers on a treacherous journey through the New Zealand Alps. With a $1 million prize at stake, the contestants must race against time and endure challenging conditions to reach the summit.

Hollywood Squares:

A reimagined version of the classic game show, starring Drew Barrymore as the centre square. Two contestants play tic-tac-toe to win money and prizes.

Returning Shows:

CBS’s returning shows include the #1 series ‘Tracker‘, the critically acclaimed ‘Elsbeth‘, the world’s #1 TV franchise ‘NCIS‘, and the #1 news program ‘60 Minutes‘. Other returning favourites are ‘FBI‘, ‘FBI: International‘, ‘FBI: Most Wanted‘, ‘Young Sheldon‘, ‘Ghosts‘, ‘So Help Me Todd‘, ‘S.W.A.T.‘, ‘Fire Country‘, ‘Blue Bloods‘, ‘The Equalizer‘, ‘CSI: Vegas‘, ‘Survivor‘, ‘The Amazing Race‘, and more.

Special Events:

CBS will also air high-profile special events throughout the year, including the GRAMMY Awards, the Golden Globe Awards, the Tony Awards, the Kennedy Center Honors, the American Music Awards, and various sports championships.
