Celeste Barber Joins the Cast of Australian Comedy “Colin From Accounts”
Australian comedian Celeste Barber, known for her parodies of celebrity Instagram posts, is set to join the cast of the acclaimed romantic comedy series “Colin From Accounts.” Barber will play a character named Kate in the show’s second season, which premieres in Australia on May 30, 2024.
The series, created and written by its stars Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer, follows the lives of Ash and Gordon, a couple navigating the complexities of living together and the challenges of owning a special-needs dog named Colin.
Barber, who boasts almost 10 million Instagram followers, is joined by other new cast members, including Virginia Gay, Justin Rosniak, Lynne Porteous, and John Howard. Gay, known for her role in “Winner & Losers,” expressed her excitement about joining the show, stating, “It’s very rare that you get to walk onto the set of your favorite show and become a part of it.”
Rosniak, who stars in “Mr. Inbetween,” described “Colin From Accounts” as “the best show in Australia, hands down,” adding that it will have viewers “laughing their heads off or bawling their eyes out.”
The new season will air on the Binge streaming service, with episodes released weekly. The BBC has acquired the rights to air the series in the UK, but a broadcast date has not yet been announced.
“Colin From Accounts” has garnered acclaim and awards, including the Most Outstanding Comedy Program at the TV Week Logie Awards. With its blend of humor and emotional storytelling, the series has become one of the most-watched original scripted series for the Foxtel Group.
