The Magnolia Network’s popular series Homegrown returns with a new episode, “Growing Up,” on Saturday April 27, 2024. Hosted by urban farmer and food activist Jamila Norman, the show transforms backyards into beautiful and functional gardens that also serve as food sources.

In this episode, Jamila involves the entire family as she takes on the challenge of converting a small backyard into a green oasis. She introduces the concept of aeroponics, a method of growing plants without soil, and guides them in creating vertical towers and traditional in-ground beds to grow colorful vegetables and herbs.

Jamila, known for her passion for urban farming and her mission to make home-grown food more accessible, will offer her expertise and insights throughout the episode. With her background in environmental engineering and her experience as the founder of Patchwork City Farms, an independently owned 1.2-acre urban farm in Atlanta, she is well-equipped to lead the family through their journey.
