In this initial episode, journalist Ben Zand gains unprecedented access to a prominent drug lord within the infamous Sinaloa Cartel in Mexico. Ben enters the drug lord’s private world, from his million-dollar estate, where he keeps pet tigers, to his more intimate moments, such as buying flowers for a girlfriend. The episode explores the allure of the cartel lifestyle, the immense dangers and stakes involved, and the reasons why individuals are drawn to this perilous trade despite the severe consequences.
“Mexico’s Tiger King” provides a unique insight into the mind of a criminal kingpin, as Ben challenges his actions and seeks to understand what could potentially lead him to abandon his life of crime.
