My 600-lb Life: Where Are They Now? returns with an emotional episode on Wednesday May 8 on TLC, catching up with Ontreon Shannon and Wess Schulze, two individuals who previously shared their weight loss journeys on the show.
Ontreon, a 36-year-old from Plano, Texas, struggles to move past his grief and become a better husband. He faces numerous health issues, including congestive heart failure and advanced diabetes, requiring him to take 13-14 different medications daily. Ontreon’s weight loss journey on the show encountered difficulties, and he gained 15 pounds instead of losing the targeted 80 pounds. Despite this setback, Ontreon remains determined, focusing on his faith and the support of his loved ones. He has since relocated to McKinney, Texas, and continues to strive for a healthier life.
Wess, also from Texas, faces his own challenges as he moves on from surgery to the next goal of lymphedema removal. Wess’s story is both heartbreaking and inspiring, marked by childhood trauma and a complicated relationship with his father. He turned to food for comfort, leading to a cycle of addiction and weight gain. With the help of Dr. Now’s weight loss program and bariatric surgery, Wess has made significant progress, losing 220 pounds and continuing to lose weight. He has embraced a healthier lifestyle, regularly sharing his progress on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Wess has also worked on repairing his relationship with his father, acknowledging the support his father provided during his weight loss journey.
My 600-lb Life: Where Are They Now? airs on TLC at 8.00 pm on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
