Our Dream Farm with Matt Baker Episode 4, 27 April 2024, Channel 4

In this fourth episode of Our Dream Farm with Matt Baker, airing on Saturday 27 April on Channel 4, the competition intensifies as six applicants remain in the running for the coveted ten-year lease of a four-bedroom traditional farmhouse and 340 acres of farmland on the National Trust’s Wallington Estate in Northumberland.

The pressure mounts as the ewes are lambing, requiring around-the-clock care from the hopeful tenants. In addition, Matt introduces a new challenge: hosting a farm visit for a group of schoolchildren. Giles Hunt, Land and Estates Director for the National Trust, and Sally Richards, Wallington Estate General Manager, want to see the applicants engage with the children, teaching them about farming, conservation, and food production while ensuring they have fun.

The episode also sees one applicant take the initiative to repair the old Ferguson tractor, while another two seize the opportunity to pitch their business plan directly to Giles and Sally. With the stakes high, the applicants must impress to avoid elimination and move closer to realising their dream of running this idyllic farm.
