Reginald the Vampire, May 8, 2024, Syfy, “The Pompatus of Love”

Reginald the Vampire

The second season of the vampire comedy Reginald the Vampire premieres on Wednesday May 8, with “The Pompatus of Love.”

In this instalment, Reginald goes big or goes home as he faces new challenges and adventures. The vampire community welcomes Maurice as their new Deacon. Meanwhile, Nikki embraces the persona of a Killer Diller, showcasing her skills and injecting excitement into the mix.

The episode also explores Reginald’s world, where he tumbles headlong into a community of beautiful, fit, and vain vampires as an unlikely hero. He must navigate obstacles, including his love for a girl he can’t be with, a bully manager at work, and a vampire chieftain who wants him dead. Fortunately, Reginald discovers hidden powers within himself.

The season premiere finds Reginald in a growing battle between vampires and angels, with the latter deciding that vampires are not worth their time and opting to kill them all. It’s up to Reginald to figure out a solution, and he reluctantly becomes the hero once more.

The episode title is a reference to the Steve Miller Band’s 70’s hit The Joker which contains the line. Pompatus is not actually a real word as such, the only place it appears is in this song (and subsequent references to it of course).
