The couple faced a challenging journey, with a strict deadline and unforeseen complications, but they successfully restored the 25-room inn, adding custom elements and vintage charm. They created a relaxing outdoor oasis with cabanas and a pool, and transformed the suites with a blend of vintage restoration and custom carpentry.
The grand entrance, featuring a custom front door and a copper-wrapped awning, sets the tone for the entire renovation. The lobby welcomes guests with cozy vintage touches, including upholstered benches and custom elements like vintage P.O. Box doors for a unique check-in experience.
The episode also highlights the restoration of the exterior, with new paint and the addition of a leathered marble bar and custom cabinetry in the lounge and bar area. The Cordrays even created a custom bar cart from an old metal horse trough, staying true to the vintage theme.
As the finishing touches are completed, the inn is ready for its grand opening, marking the successful transformation of a historic 1912 building into a one-of-a-kind hotel in Galveston, Texas.
