The A&E show Secrets of the Hells Angels is back with a new episode, “The Killing of Margo Compton,” airing on Sunday, April 28, 2024. The episode investigates the tragic murder of a young mother, Margo Compton, and her twin daughters, Sylvia and Sandra, in 1977. The show examines the role of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang in the killings and the subsequent 18-year quest for justice led by Detective Sergeant Mike Graham.

In August 1977, Compton, 24, was found dead in her home in the rural town of Gaston, Oregon, along with her six-year-old twin daughters and her boyfriend’s 19-year-old son, Gary Seslar. All four victims were shot execution-style, with each suffering a gunshot wound to the head. Compton had previously worked as a prostitute for Odis “Buck” Garrett, the leader of the Hells Angels’ Vallejo chapter, and had testified against him in a prostitution trial. As a result, she became a target for retaliation by the Hells Angels.

The episode explores the impact of Compton’s testimony against Garrett, who was convicted in the prostitution case. Enraged by the case, Garrett ordered the killings of Compton and her family members. Robert G. “Bugeye Bob” McClure, a Hells Angels associate, was convicted of carrying out the murders at Garrett’s behest. Both men were sentenced to four consecutive life terms in prison.

The episode includes first-ever interviews with family members and eyewitnesses, shedding new light on the case. Detective Graham’s passion for justice and his unwavering determination to solve the case are highlighted, as well as his encounter with Michael “Iron Mike” Thompson, a leader of the Aryan Brotherhood prison gang, who provided crucial information about the murders.
