Channel 4 Commissions Second Season of Acclaimed Comedy The Change

Channel 4 has confirmed a second season of Bridget Christie’s acclaimed series, The Change. The BAFTA-nominated show is created, written by, and stars the multi-award-winning comedian.

The Change tells the story of Linda, a middle-aged woman embarking on a journey of self-discovery and transformation. At the outset of the second season, Linda confronts the consequences of her actions, having told lies to the forest community and lost the Mother Tree, a pivotal element of her newfound freedom. The arrival of her husband, Steve, adds further complexity as he attempts to bring her back home, creating tension and uncertainty.

The first season of The Change garnered critical acclaim and award nominations, including recognition from the Broadcast Awards, RTS, and BAFTA. Christie’s writing masterfully weaves together humor and poignant insights into the experiences of middle-aged women, a demographic that is often underrepresented in comedy. Her performance as Linda captures the challenges and joys of embracing change and discovering one’s true self.
