The Fall: Skydive Murder Plot, a brand-new docudrama series, premieres on Channel 4 this Tuesday, 11 June 2024, at 9:00 pm. This innovative true-crime series combines exclusive documentary interviews with dramatic reconstructions taken verbatim from police interviews, court transcripts, and other previously unseen materials.
The first episode focuses on the terrifying experience of skydiver Victoria Cilliers, whose routine parachute jump on Easter Sunday 2015 turned into a nightmare. Both her main and reserve parachutes failed, resulting in a horrifying fall. Incredibly, Victoria survived, but the incident sparked a two-year investigation led by DC Maddy Hennah and DI Paul Franklin.
Their probe uncovered a web of secrets, including affairs, financial troubles, and a connection to sex clubs and escorts. At the centre of it all was Victoria’s husband, Emile Cilliers, the prime suspect in what was revealed to be an attempted murder.
The episode offers a unique insight into the subsequent police investigation, featuring the first in-depth TV interview with Victoria Cilliers herself. Through this intimate lens, audiences will witness the meticulous process of pulling back the layers of Emile’s life and uncovering his true intentions.
The Fall: Skydive Murder Plot continues with its second episode, airing the following night, Wednesday, 12 June, on Channel 4. This series is part of True Crime on Channel 4, offering a compelling and unique perspective on real-life stories.
