The Jennifer Hudson Show, on Friday April 19, welcomes Ego Nwodim, a cast member on Saturday Night Live since 2018. Nwodim, an American actress, comedian, and writer of Nigerian heritage, was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and graduated from the University of Southern California with a biology degree.
She began her comedy career at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles, where she was a regular performer and also showcased her one-woman show, “Great Black Women…and Then There’s Me.” Nwodim joined SNL as a featured player in 2018 and was promoted to repertory status in 2020.
The show will also feature two inspiring individuals making a difference in the world: Dakota Patton, a 6-year-old makeup artist from Savannah, Georgia, and Kelli Ritschel Boehle, the founder of a nonprofit organization. Patton has gained widespread attention for her remarkable talent in special effects makeup, transforming herself into iconic characters like Harley Quinn, Pennywise, and Venom. Her attention to detail and creative expression have earned her a dedicated online following.
Meanwhile, Boehle established the Nikolas Ritschel Foundation, also known as “Nik’s Wish,” in honor of her son, Nikolas Ritschel, who passed away from cancer in 2012. The organization grants wishes to young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 who are battling cancer, filling the gap for those who do not qualify for the Make-A-Wish Foundation due to age restrictions. In the past decade, “Nik’s Wish” has touched the lives of 275 individuals, providing them with enrichment opportunities and precious memories with their loved ones.
The Jennifer Hudson Show airs on syndicated networks on Friday, April 19, 2024.
