The Kelly Clarkson Show welcomes a diverse range of guests on Friday, April 19, including actor Cary Elwes, author Kwame Alexander, and country music band Parmalee. Kellyoke sees Kelly performing “Two Story House.”
Elwes, best known for his iconic role as Westley in the beloved 1987 fantasy film “The Princess Bride,” has enjoyed a prolific career spanning several decades. In addition to his memorable performances in films like “Glory” (1989), “Robin Hood: Men in Tights” (1993), and “Liar Liar” (1997), Elwes has also taken on challenging roles in critically acclaimed independent films like “Shadow of the Vampire” (2000) and “Saw” (2004).
Kwame Alexander, a poet, educator, producer, and #1 New York Times bestselling author, will discuss his latest book, “Black Star,” the second installment in his “The Door of No Return” trilogy. Set during the turbulent segregation era and the beginning of The Great Migration, “Black Star” centers on Kofi’s granddaughter, Charley, a baseball phenom with big dreams. Alexander’s previous works include “Why Fathers Cry at Night,” “The Undefeated,” and “Becoming Muhammad Ali, co-authored with James Patterson. He is also the creator and host of the “Why Fathers Cry” podcast and serves as the Michael I. Rudell Artistic Director of Literary Arts for Chautauqua Literary Arts at the Chautauqua Institution.
Parmalee, a country music band from North Carolina, consists of brothers Matt and Scott Thomas, cousin Barry Knox, and childhood friend Josh McSwain. They gained recognition with their debut album “Inside” and have since released multiple platinum records.
