The Kitchen returns with a new episode, “Love Your Leftovers,” airing on Food Network at 11 am on Saturday, April 13, 2024. The episode focuses on creating innovative dishes from leftover ingredients, showcasing the hosts’ culinary expertise in transforming mundane leftovers into exciting new meals.

In this episode, the hosts of The Kitchen, Jeff Mauro, Geoffrey Zakarian, Katie Lee Biegel, and Sunny Anderson, are joined by guest chef Esther Choi, known for her appearances on Food Network’s “24 in 24: Last Chef Standing” and her acclaimed restaurant mŏkbar.

Mauro takes on the challenge of repurposing leftover rice by crafting delicious carbonara arancini. These arancini balls combine the flavors of Italian risotto and pasta, featuring ingredients like bacon, garlic, cheese, and breadcrumbs. Choi shares her unique take on breakfast congee, utilizing three different leftovers to create a dish that is both flavorful and economical. Zakarian presents a clever twist on the classic martini with his olive oil martini, a silky and complex cocktail that substitutes olive oil wash for brine.

Anderson showcases her creativity by transforming leftover steak into a mouthwatering dish of steak and garlic noodles. She elevates this simple combination by adding soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and red pepper, resulting in a well-seasoned and satisfying meal. Zakarian also works his magic with leftover mashed potatoes, turning them into crispy pierogies served with a traditional sour cream dip.

The Kitchen continues to inspire home cooks with its imaginative approaches to everyday ingredients, proving that leftovers don’t have to be boring.
