The seventh episode of The Twelve continues the gripping courtroom drama, focusing on the trial of Kate Lawson, who stands accused of murdering her teenage niece, Claire. In this episode, the defence cross-examines Kate’s brother, Robbie, and Claire’s mother, Diane, takes the stand, as the jury grapples with conflicting testimonies and the possibility of reasonable doubt.

The episode, airing on ITV1 on Thursday 25 April, opens with a bizarre interruption in the courtroom. The defence attorney, played by Sam Neill, then proceeds to cross-examine Robbie, highlighting a text conversation between him and Claire that casts doubt on the prosecution’s narrative.

Meanwhile, the jurors’ personal lives continue to intersect with the trial. Garry faces pressure from Otto, Georgina finds a babysitting solution with Simon’s daughter, Ava, and Peter and Margaret’s date ends in disappointment. Additionally, the episode takes an unexpected turn when one of the jurors, Melissa, suffers a seizure, bringing an abrupt halt to the proceedings.
