Will Fallout Season 2 Happen, Here’s What We Know

Fallout

The future of Fallout is looking bright, with a second season, although as yet unconfirmed, likely on the way. Here’s everything we know so far about Fallout Season 2. Beware of spoilers if you haven’t seen the series yet.

Renewal Status

Fallout Season 2 has not been officially announced by Prime Video, but it is expected to be renewed. Amazon Studios has invested heavily in the show, aiming for it to be their next big sci-fi release. The show has also received a $25 million tax credit for filming in California, indicating a likely relocation from New York State for the second season.

Release Date

If filming begins in September 2024, as reported, a late 2025 release date is possible, but a spring 2026 debut is more likely due to the show’s detailed production and multiple locations.

Plot and Storylines

The first season of Fallout ended with several cliffhangers, leaving room for the story to expand in Season 2. Maximus (Aaron Moten) finds himself back in the good graces of The Brotherhood of Steel, despite his wavering belief in their mission. Lucy (Ella Purnell) and The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) set off to find Hank (Kyle MacLachlan) in New Vegas, a familiar setting for fans of the games. Norm (Moisés Arias), meanwhile, is stuck in Vault 31 after a shocking discovery.

The second season is expected to explore new locations and continue the storylines of these central characters. It may also introduce new characters, such as Cooper Howard’s wife, Barb, played by Frances Turner, who has only appeared in flashbacks thus far.

Creative Team and Cast

The creative team has expressed their hopes for a second season, with showrunner Graham Wagner stating that they have “documents and documents of stuff” they are eager to explore if given the opportunity. Geneva Robertson-Dworet, one of the show’s writers and co-showrunners, has also shared her belief that the full story could not be contained within a single season.

No major casting announcements have been made, but it is expected that the central cast members will return, including Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias, Leslie Uggams, and Zach Cherry.
