Starring the silky smooth Peter Bowles (who at the time was one of the most popular actors on TV thanks to the huge success of To The Manor Born) as Howard Booth, The Bounder follows Howard as, newly released from prison, he decides to go and stay with his sister Mary Mountjoy (Rosalind Ayres) and her husband Trevor (the fab George Cole). Of course Trevor is less than impressed to have the sponging, work shy Howard living with them, especially as he is the only one who can see Howard for the impeccibly dressed “Bounder” he really is.
