Can You Hear Me Thinking? (BBC-1 1990, Judi Dench, Michael Williams)
Drama. When their 16 year old son, Danny, develops schizophrenia it turns a married couples life completely upside down. As his condition deteriates Danny ends up hospitalised and when he does come home, life can never be the same again.
Real life husband and wife team Judi Dench and Michael Williams are excellent as the initially unsympathetic parents who think at first that their son is going through an odd patch but then doing absolutely everything they can once they realise the full extent of his condition.
The ending is particularly strong and very moving. Sections of the movie were filmed at Netherne Hospital
