Dogfood Dan And The Carmarthen Cowboy (ITV-BBC 1982&1988, Malcolm Storry, Peter Blake)

BBC sitcom Dogfood Dan And The Carmarthen Cowboy actually appeared first as a one off 1982 ITV Playhouse production of the same name. It and the series that followed six years later was written by David Nobbs of Reggie Perrin fame.

The convoluted plot saw a pair of long distance lorry drivers, “Dogfood” Dan Milton and Aubrey “The Camarthen Cowboy” Owen meeting up regularly on the road. The duo liked to tell stories of their lives and of their romantic exploits. What they don’t realise is that each is having an affair with the other’s wife!
