Fossett Saga, The (ITV 1969, Jimmy Edwards, Sam Kydd)

Sitcom The Fossett Saga told stories of James Fossett, an author of Victorian Penny Dreadfuls, and his batman Herbert Quince.

This was basically an anthology series like Edwards earlier series Faces of Jim, the following names all popped up in the course of the run; Geraldine Newman, Graham Stark, Eric Barker, Erik Chitty and June Whitfield.

The series was a punning spin on the hugely popular BBC period drama The Forsyte Saga which had aired in 1967 and been repeated the following year.
