Hyperdrive (BBC-2 2006, Miranda Hart, Nick Frost)

Futuristic adventures aboard the British spaceship HMS Camden Lock as the captain and crew try to promote trade and investment between Britain and intergalactic races.

The year is 2151 and the British have launched a fleet of space ships to explore the galaxy in the only way the British can – with a stiff upper lip and regular tea breaks. Their mission? To export all things British to all corners of the galaxy – things like overpriced supermarkets, housing projects, call centers and even tractors – all in an effort to protect Britain’s interest in an ever-changing galaxy.

At the forefront of the expedition is the spacecraft HMS Camden Lock, helmed by the irrepressible, if a little tetchy, Commander Henderson (Nick Frost, Shaun of the Dead, Kinky Boots) and ably assisted by a crew of misfits, the Commander steers his ship through the stars while giving orders from his big swivel chair.
