Judge John Deed (BBC Legal Drama, Martin Shaw)

In legal drama Judge John Deed, Martin Shaw, with just the right amount of gravitas, plays the high court Judge of the title, who with a massively passionate belief in the justice system tends to get rather too involved in the cases he is trying, even if it means treading on people’s toes to make sure that justice is served.

Judge John Deed has an impeccable pedigree, being written and produced by TV legend G.F. Newman (the man behind the incredible 1970’s drama Law and Order) and besides Shaw the cast also includes Jenny Seagrove, Caroline Langrishe and legend Sir Donald Sinden.
