With it’s punning title Kevin Can Wait sees newly retired cop Kevin all set to enjoy some much needed quality time at home. Unfortunately for Kevin his wife and three kids have other ideas!
Kevin has been busy making plans which mainly consist of family time and having fun with friends Goody (his former partner now also retired), Duffy (his oldest friend), and brother Kyle (a fireman).
What Kevin hasn’t realised though is how chaotic his home life has become, thanks to wife Donna shielding him from most of what is going on with their three growing kids. Eldest Kendra is dropping out of college so she can support boyfriend Chale who is unemployed but working on the “app” that will make his fortune. Teenage Sara is having multiple issues at school and Jack, the youngest, is turning in to a hypochondriac.
